Advanced Sustainable Biofuels for Aviation
Summary
The first-ever effort to produce and use sustainable aviation fuel at an industrial scale in Europe (HEFA), as well as, action that support market uptake.
The project will focus on biofuel obtained from residual lipids, such as, used cooking oil, but will also investigate alternative sources, such as, drought-resistant crops (e.g. camelina) grown on marginal land in the EU’s Mediterranean areas.
