BIN2BEAN is a Horizon Europe project helping cities valorise bio-waste by transforming it into soil improvers through innovative and economically viable value chains.
The project operates Living Labs in Amsterdam (NL), Hamburg (DE), and Egaleo (EL), where partners develop and validate solutions that other European cities can replicate to enhance their bio-waste management.
Through these activities, BIN2BEAN supports Europe’s 2035 goal of reducing landfill to 10% of total waste while sustainably returning nearly 135,000 tonnes of nitrogen and 45,000 tonnes of phosphorus to soils.
