Bioenergy and renewable fuels are essential for achieving the EU’s zero-emissions target, particularly in hard-to-electrify sectors such as aviation, shipping, and heavy road transport. The Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan identifies these technologies as critical to meeting EU decarbonization goals. To advance them, coordinated stakeholder action, aligned national priorities, and effective policy implementation are required. SETDEPLOY addresses these needs by strengthening networks, supporting innovation, and enabling collaboration across member states and stakeholders. The project will guide the update and execution of the IWG8 Implementation Plan, integrate new EU policy priorities, and accelerate large-scale deployment to build a competitive, resilient bioenergy and renewable fuels sector.
